Arette Gran Clase Extra Anejo: The Must-Have Spirit for Any Collection

This one was on the top of my list of tequilas that I must have & let me say it was a challenge to find. If you did not know, it is a limited production run and with limited distribution. I looked for this bottle for months around Kansas City (not the best place to be as a tequila lover) without any luck. Even when I went on trips, I could not find it. I finally found it in stock at Old Town Tequila & passed that information on to my wife for a Christmas gift for me. She took the hint & got me a bottle.
I will admit I opened the bottle Christmas day, expecting to be wowed. Sadly, I was a bit disappointed. So this bottle of tequila has been sitting on the shelf untouched until today. Today I was WOWED for sure. What I have learned and had forgotten to do with this bottle is to let it breathe when you first open it. I do not like alcohol to be the first thing I smell. I would prefer to smell the barrel, fruits, agave, etc. I am so glad that I revisited this bottle of tequila.
You can smell the craftsmanship. Rich in an aroma that makes your nose so happy. One of the first things I get a hint of is the American Oak barrels, followed by fragrant fruits & citrus, then the sweetness of the vanilla. No harsh whisky order overpowering the sweetness of the agave. This one is a must-have for any tequila collector. But you better be patient. With the limited production, getting your hands on this fantastic tequila may take a while. But it will be worth it, trust me.
