ITzcali Tapas and Tequila is a remarkable Mexican restaurant, inspiring appreciation for culinary art with its amazing collection of tequila.
My wife and I took a trip to Wichita, KS, to visit a new restaurant, ITzcali Tapas and Tequila. We went based on the photos and information we had seen online, advertising that they had an extensive tequila offering, and let me just say that they did not disappoint! They had SO many incredible tequilas. They had Seimbra Azul Lidia, Fuenteseca of every age, G4 Extra Añejo Reserva Especial 7-year, Tapatio, Ocho, Lost Lore, Caschuin, Tau, and so many more fantastic tequilas. They told me they started purchasing tequila a year before the restaurant opened. It is the best selection I have ever seen in a restaurant or a bar.
The photos we saw online do not do this restaurant justice. When my wife and I came around the corner from the parking lot and got our first glimpse inside, we were both blown away. The decor was just unique. Everything was tastefully done. It was decorated in an Aztec, Spanish, and Mayan theme. Even the chandelier above the bar was perfect. The owners, a husband and wife team, spared no expense creating a stunning ambiance. Some of the simplest things made this place special. One of the things I noticed is that the tables were spaced so that you did not feel like you were eating with the people next to you. They wanted you to enjoy your experience while you were there, and their entire staff made that happen.
If you haven't visited this fantastic restaurant, add it to your list. You won't find a better selection of tequila. Not to mention, the food is incredible. They don't drown the food in sauces; they want you to taste the seasoned meats. The food is some of the best I have had in a long time.
My wife and I will revisit this special restaurant soon, and I can't wait.
